Executive Board
The Executive Board is elected by the membership of Mask & Mirror each spring, and consists of four officers and up to four members at large. These individuals oversee a slate of committees organized to conduct the activities of the organization.
Information about the Executive Board members:
President Sophie Duntley
I have a deep love for theatre, for this organization, and for the people who make Mask & Mirror what it is. I have been involved in various capacities at Mask & Mirror over the past two years, including performing onstage (as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Nurse Kelly in Harvey), assistant directing, managing the box office, and production managing. I was also the Intimacy Choreographer for Almost, Maine. I am currently a Member at Large on the board and involved in the Gala Planning Committee, the Fundraising Committee, and the New Venue Committee. My undergraduate degree is in Musical Theatre Performance, and I obtained my Masters degree in Directing at Bath Spa University in England, graduating with distinction. 7/1/2026, 2 year term
Vice President Jodi Johnson
Jodi has been active with Mask & Mirror since 2017 and has also served as Corresponding Secretary and Member at Large. She has been a costumer and stage manager for many of our shows, as well as handling props. She has also been in three of our shows as an actress. 6/21/2025, 2 year term
Secretary Kathleen Bean Jones
I have been a proud member of the Mask & Mirror family for the past three years. I began as an actor in Season 13 with The Odd Couple (Female Version), directed Pride & Prejudice in Season 14, and later served as Production Manager for Harvey. Over the past year, I have also served as a Member-at-Large on the board and have been actively involved in the Fundraising, New Venue, and Gala committees. In addition to my work with Mask & Mirror, I serve on the board of the Portland Area Theatre Alliance (PATA) as Education Chair. I hold a Master’s Degree in Teaching and am a disabled veteran who advocates for inclusive and accessible theater opportunities both on and off the stage. 7/1/2026, 2 year term
Member-at-Large Jeremy January
I was part of the show Pride and Prejudice with Mask & Mirror where I played Mr. Darcy. That show was unlike anything I have ever been a part of and I am so thankful to Mask & Mirror for the experience. I care deeply about what community theatre does. Drawing on my 35 years of experience as an actor, playwright, and stage producer, I plan to help foster an inclusive and fun performing environment for our actors and shape Mask & Mirror for the enjoyment of our patrons who choose to spend their evenings (and money!) with us. 7/1/2026, 2 year term
Member-at-Large Karen Johnson
I have been a theater nerd for as long as I can remember and a non-profit professional in the Portland area for the last 15 years. I hold a certificate in Non-profit Manangement and Fundraising from Portland State and an MBA from Willamette University. I have worked in development at Portland Center Stage and currently at Oregon Public Broadcasting. After a long absence from the stage, my first show back was “Spirit Level” with Mask & Mirror in the fall of 2024, followed by "Pride & Prejudice" in spring of 2025. I’ve had a wonderful experience in both shows I have worked on with Mask & Mirror and want to help ensure as great of an experience for future artists and audiences. Additionally, I think my extensive experience in non-profit management and fundraising would be an asset to the future growth of the Mask & Mirror, particularly in the search for a new home for the theater. 7/1/2026, 2 year term
Member-at-Large Sianna Deck-Uglestad
I played Lydia in Pride and Prejudice and Myrtle Mae in Harvey at Mask & Mirror, and my experiences here have been so lovely that I’d like to give back and be involved in a more direct way. I fell in love with theatre years ago because it reminds me of my roots! I’m Native American and have been doing Traditional Storytelling for crowds since I was seven years old. I graduated from George Fox University with a BA degree in film and theatre when I was 20, and now I’m seeking good leadership opportunities to put the theatre part (my favorite part) to use. 7/1/2026, 2 year term

Immediate Past President John Knowles I have been on the Executive Board of Mask and Mirror for several years and have enjoyed serving. I have been in three M&M productions as an actor, built the set for others, and otherwise volunteered my services when needed. I am also a lawyer, arbitrator and mediator, as well as a retired part time Circuit Court Judge.
