Summary
Things are coming apart at the Sunk Inn, deep in the Louisiana Bayou. The little money collected from paying guests just keeps disappearing, and it looks like Horace and Winny will lose the inn to their main creditor, Betty Noir, sinistress, receptionist, and bookkeeper. Their life is further complicated by the appearance of Miss Dulcet, innocent orphan of the swamp; her evil pursuer, Mansewer Jacques Le Mort; and an ever-so-stuffy English couple who have arrived for a "safari." The black goo in the quicksand is getting to be a serious problem; Le Mort obviously has evil intentions toward Miss Dulcet, and the Sunks appear to be sunk. Can Ranger Harry Dangerfield save them all from a fate worse than death?
